Idlewyld Manor is currently seeking Casual Dietary Aide's to join their team!
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Food Service Manager, the Dietary Aide is responsible for the provision of highest quality food service to residents, visitors and staff, safe food handling practices and proper sanitation procedures in keeping with Ontario Regulation 243/84 under the Health Protection and Promotion Act (Food Premises). The incumbent is responsible for portioning of meals and desserts, assisting the Cook with food preparation as needed, cleaning dining rooms and serving areas, operation of the dish-washing machine and cleaning equipment. The incumbent may be requested to assume the duties of the cook in his/her absence. The position involves walking, standing, bending, lifting, carrying and moving between refrigerated/freezer areas and areas at room temperature.
Requirements:
- Must be able to read and write English as well as be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must have training and experience in quantity food production and service.
- Must have current Food Handlers Certification.
- Minimum Grade 12 education.
- Must be reliable, conscientious, neat, clean, and demonstrate tact and courtesy in dealing with others.
- Must be flexible and able to work to deadlines.
- French language skills are an asset.
