Position Summary:

Working as part of the leadership team, this position is responsible for ensuring that resident care exceeds standards and expectations. This position supports the home’s Infection Prevention and Control program (IPAC), as well as all aspects of resident admissions, including liaising with residents and family members pending admission, and throughout the admission process.  Oversees and coordinates the RAI MDS processes in accordance with MOHLTC regulations monitoring and supporting all staff to ensure accuracy of data and takes corrective action as necessary.  The position provides leadership to the staff teams, ensuring the implementation of best practice approaches to resident care.  

Employment Guide: 

  • Strong candidates for this position will be Registered Practical Nurse and registered in good standing with the College of Nurses Ontario; a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the Long-Term Care or Acute Care sector is preferred.
  • Leadership/Supervisory experience is a key requirement for this role.
  • Have experience in quality improvement, adult education is beneficial.  Knowledge of epidemiological principles, statistics and microbiology and the ability to integrate this knowledge into clinical practice would be a significant asset.  
  • Must demonstrate effective leadership, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to educate and support employees.  
  • Flexibility to work or support all three shifts is required, as well as participating in the home’s on-call leader rotation.
  • Member of National Infection Control Association (IPAC Canada) is beneficial
  • Current CPR and First Aid is required.

Job Type: Full-time, permanent. 37.5 hours per week
