We are currently hiring 2 Full Time Personal Support Aide to join our Community Services Team in the Hamilton Area!

AbleLiving Services is a non-profit organization providing personal support services to adults with disabilities living within their own homes or one of our independent living facilities. Our clients direct and customize the services they receive and we support them to maximize their independence and enhance their quality of life. We provide services across the Golden Horseshoe in the Mississauga, Burlington, Stoney Creek and Hamilton communities.

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for regular monitoring and provision of support to clients to enable them to remain in their own homes and live as independently as possible. These positions will support with housekeeping and homemaking activities, transporting clients to medical appointments, deliveries to clinets, wellness calls as well as other PSA duties as required. No personal care is required in this role and is great for individuals with no experience but looking to get into the healthcare field.

* This position requires access to a vehicle and a valid drivers license. 

* This position may require occasional coverage in both Hamilton and Burlington areas*

Employment Requirements:

  • Some high school education.  Prior experience or knowledge of providing support services for people with disabilities and/or seniors an asset. 
  • Ability to empathize with people with physical and emotional needs is essential.   
  • Knowledge of basic math and ability to do calculations and quantity measurements are required.
  • Must be able to plan and organize work and perform tasks according to priority. 
  • Ability to make solid decisions and problem-solve effectively are also essential.   
  • Good oral and written communication skills, with a competent level of English are required. 
  • Must demonstrate high commitment to providing exceptional customer service and be reliable, punctual, and capable of managing time effectively. 
  • Ability to develop supportive relationships and work collaboratively with clients, family members, colleagues, volunteers, and community partners are essential. 
  • Must be able to take direction and work independently as well as part of a team.
