AbleLiving Services is a not-for-profit organization, part of Thrive Group, that provides services funded through Ontario Health. Our Binbrook location is a 52-bed home that includes permanent beds, transitional beds, and 6 beds for clients who require ventilator assistance.

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for managing all aspects of programs and services within assigned portfolio(s) and location(s); developing, monitoring and evaluating client services and implementing strategies for continuous improvement. Assists with the design and implementation of best-practice, client-responsive programs and services and ensuring established service targets are being met. Assists in the establishment and maintenance of community partnerships. Providing supervision and support to supervisory staff the position ensures excellence in client service provision; oversees and manages the selection, recruitment, training and performance of all staff within scope of responsibility.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing, Social Sciences, Community Development or related health/social service discipline; with a minimum of seven years’ experience in a leadership position; within a non-profit, social service or health care environment are requirements for this position.
- Previous experience working with people with disabilities and/or seniors within a 24/7 unionized environment preferred.
- Prior knowledge of the Ontario Health Care system; Ministry of Health and Long Term Care (MHLTC); Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA); Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and Employment Standards Act are advantageous.
- Must have the ability to act as a role model and influence others; foster effective team work; and lead by example.
- Previous experience with development and submission of proposals to potential funding bodies and in the start-up of new programs and services desirable.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite and data base management and have solid analytical; verbal and written communication skills; and report writing skills.
- A demonstrated ability to deal with a diverse range of people is essential.
- Must be able to give and take direction and build strong relationships with clients, employees, family members and the general public.
- Superior problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task effectively are essential.
- Must be proficient in English (both verbally and in writing); possess a valid driving license; and reliable vehicle.
Job Type: Permanent, full-time. This position is 40 hours per week.
