What you can expect as a Volunteer at Thrive Group:

Volunteer Responsibilities:

  • Set up and prepare the café area for service
  • Operate the tuck cart and café service
  • Handle cash transactions (cash only)
  • Serve occasional kitchen specials provided by the dietary team
  • Maintain a clean and welcoming café environment
  • Clean tables, sweep floors, and assist with general café upkeep
  • Foster positive relationships with residents, staff, families, and visitors through excellent customer service

Qualifications/Skills/Expectations: 

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Friendly, positive, and enthusiastic attitude
  • Good communication and listening skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Reliable and consistent attendance
  • Comfortable handling cash transactions
  • Teamwork; able to work with a variety of people
  • Understand the need for confidentiality
  • Vulnerable Sector Police Check

Job Type: Casual/Volunteer (unpaid)

Locations: St. Peter's Residence at Chedoke (125 Redfern Ave. Hamilton)
